Carolina Lindenberg Lemos (Università Federale del Cearà) - The prosaic route to creativity

The lecture will focus on an aspect of creativity that has to do with newness or adding new meanings to old forms. To investigate this idea, we will consider the interpenetrations between poeticism and prosaism in discourse. Our hypothesis is that these two dimensions constitute forces in tension that are comparable to Luiz Tatit’s orality/musicality binomial (Tatit, 2016), and that the introduction of prosaic elements into poetic form constitutes an important means of renewal and creativity.
