The community of philosophical enquiry is a didactic method designed to enable students
to develop the capacity for dialogue, critical reflection, ethical awareness, and wide sense of how bodies of knowledge might sit together. Crucially, for the teacher, this method
involves enabling a structured conversation rather than delivering specifically new information.

This training will:

(a) provide you with an academically informed understanding of the virtues and benefits of the method, introducing you to Matthew Lipman's 4Cs;

(b) introduce you to the practice of the community of enquiry by leading
you through 2 structured conversations;

(c) outline the specific steps to follow as a teacherfacilitator;

(d) enable you to design and trial your own session under supervision; (e)
workshop how you might overcome barriers to using this method in your didactic practice.
