Officine Filosofiche is a research center dedicated to contemporary French and German philosophy (Merleau-Ponty, Foucault, Deleuze, Derrida, Frankfurt school, 20th century philosophical anthropology). Sincemany years, the group principally analyzes the relation between philosophy and ecology.
Directed by prof. Manlio Iofrida, Officine Filosofiche formed in 2008, thanks to the collaboration of researchers from Bologna and Florence, working on contemporary French philosophy, Marxism and the Frankfurt school.
Over the course of ten years since the group's foundation, Officine Filosofiche has organized seminars, conventions, and literary presentations on the subject of the Italian and international philosophical debate. Since then, Officine Filosofiche has expanded into a national then international organization.
The group now includes researchers from the University of Pisa and the Scuola Normale Superiore, as well as professors of prestigious international universities (Parigi, Toronto) in addition to the founding Bolognese and Florentine members.
Officine Filosofiche has also been recognized in the Italian philosophical debate. The group has become an important point of reference for the confrontation and development of the debate, as well as for students and researchers of University of Bologna.
As of 2017, Officine Filosofiche also holds seminars as a subgroup of Ubiminor, which are valid for credit for those pursuing a bachelor's degree in Philosophy at the University of Bologna.
